Poirot star David Suchet has swapped roles – and genders – to play Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s classic play The Importance of Being Earnest.
The play is being performed at London’s Vaudeville Theatre.
But Worksop audiences won’t have to travel to the capital to see it as a performance is being screened live at the Savoy Cinema in the town on Thursday, October 8.
The play sees bachelor friends Algernon Moncrieff and John Worthing lead double lives to try and attract the attentions of Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew.
The men must then grapple with the uproarious consequences of their ruse, and the formidable Lady Bracknell.
“We’re having tremendous fun with the play and look forward to sharing this with cinema audiences too,” commented David Suchet.
