Bassetlaw band Riff Reign enjoyed a successful live debut at the Rum Runner in Retford.

The well-received gig, coupled with the launch of their new album, means the local band is now in demand and their next live date is on May 27 at 9pm at the The Hatfeild Arms at Laughton-en-le-Morthenin Sheffield.

The new album, Sittin’ Here Thinking, is proving popular and Riff Reign now has approaching 700 signed-up fans in 74 countries.

The band is played regularly on internet stations Croydon Radio, Jango Radio, and Lonely Oak Radio.

It has also been featured on Argentina-based RadioMango PapaChango.

The band will be playing all 12 tracks from the new album at their Laughton gig, plus one from the first album and a number of rock standards.

All tracks on the album were composed by bassist David Wright and developed by the band.

Recording was at Swanyard Music in Retford.

Fifty years after he first played bass guitar in a pop group – and in various bands over the years – David brought together Russ Parsons, Linda Lawrence, Steve Row (all vocials), Rcihard Nettleship (guitar & vocals), James Bennett (keyboards & percussion) and Richard Hall (drums) to develop and record his music.

The band’s first album, Riff Reign, was released in December 2014.

Both albums are available by e-mailing riffreign@hotmail.com.

The first album is also available on line at the digital platforms and the new album will be on-line shortly.

David has also recently composed a Christmas song, Sing Out With Cheer, to be released later this year.
