Classical ballet returns to Retford’s Majestic Theatre next weekend as the highly acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet Company present Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece Swan Lake.
One of the world’s best loved and most well known classical ballets, the story centres around Prince Siegfried.
While out hunting, the Prince meets with a flock of swans led by a Queen Swan who is under the evil spell of a magician Baron Rothbart.
He falls in love with the Queen of the Swans and tries to free them all.
However, the magician has a few tricks up his sleeve but will everything turn out well for the Prince and the Queen of the Swans?
This production offers specially designed glamorous costumes and beautiful sets which project colour and vitality to enhance the workings of the dancers, choreographer and the composer.
The production includes all the essential ingredients to appeal to a wide audience base from youngsters wishing to see the art of ballet live on stage to those wishing to enjoy a good story combined with music and dance.
