Dinnington Town slipped to a 3-0 defeat against a sharp, impressive Shirebrook Town on Tuesday evening.
The visitors no 9 Aaron Moxam was a constant threat throughout the game and he easily converted from close range on 13 minutes with the home defence appealing for offside.
Five minutes later he came close to scoring a second with a strong cross-shot which just missed the far post.
The remainder of the half continued with Shirebrook on the attack, and Marcus Weston had to produce a good save on 39 minutes to prevent a further goal.
Town were forced to make two changes at half time through injury but Shirebrook continued to dominate.
It came as no surprise when Adam Shepherd scored a fine second goal, with a powerful shot from the edge of the area.
Town’s best chance came on 57 minutes from a Jamie Roper free kick which was well saved by the visitors’ keeper.
However, Shirebrook quickly responded and Aaron Moxam scored his second on 64 minutes to complete a comprehensive victory.
Manager Steve Toyne was left to reflect on a defeat against what is likely to prove one of the best teams in this league.
With a growing injury crisis he now faces selection problems on Saturday against Rossington.
