Worksop RUFC made a great start to their pre-season campaign with a 36-19 win away at Thornesians II.

Worksop travelled to Thorne with a mixture of first and second team players to start their pre-season, and the squad put in an inspired performance to take the victory.

Six tries from six different players in various positions and three successful conversions highlighted some of the strength in depth Worksop are bringing into this new season.

Man of the match went to Liam Baker for a great individual performance throughout the game.

Impressive debuts by Matt Gilbert at inside centre and Mark Elliott on the wing were both capped off with tries.

The scorers were A. Bainbridge, D. Bowskill, L. Christian, M. Elliott, M. Gilbert and M. Nunn.

All three conversions were kicked by M. Nunn.

Training is at the usual time of 7pm on Thursday.

This weekend Worksop travel to Southwell for their next preseason match.

The club meet time is 1pm.
