THE Worksop Guardian has teamed up with Owlerton Greyhound Stadium to offer a lucky ready the chance to take three friends for a night ‘at the dogs’.
Enter our exclusive competition to win a three course meal and wine for you and your friends, and an experience quite unlike any other in local sport.
The Sheffield stadium’s glass fronted restaurant offers views of the track, with the chance to have a flutter on the races as you eat dinner.
Guardian sports editor Graham Smyth describes his recent experience at the stadium: “Not being a betting man, I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy a night at the dogs, but it’s just a fun evening out.”
“The restaurant serves brilliant food, and the races add a unique aspect to the experience – even if you just pick a dog because you like its name.”
“There’s no pressure to bet, but runners do come right to your table to give you the chance to have a flutter, making it easy for beginners to get involved.”
Race meetings are held three times a week, on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and every booking in the ‘Panorama Restaurant’ includes admission and a racecard.
For your chance to win a night out for you and three friends, with a three course meal and wine, simply email your name, address and contact number to email@example.com with the subject ‘Greyhounds’.
The competition will close at 9am on Friday 14th July, the prize is redeemable until 31st August 2012 and must be booked in advance and the competition is not open to Under 18s.
