A trio of Retford and District Wheelers are taking part in a 284-mile ‘Pedal to Paris’ event.
Tandem enthusiasts Sarah and David Jarvis are involved in the ride, for Royal British Legion, while one of the oldest Wheelers, 73-year-old Ian Stewart will join them for the four-day marathon cycle.
On the race scene Paul Austin competed in the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists road race based on Great Limber, Lincolnshire.
After 44 miles of hard racing Austin finished just outside the top 10 in the bunch sprint finish.
This week’s Strava League results are: Tony Siveter 233.0 miles, Alan Hazard 208.1 miles, Glen Allison 161.7 miles and Peter Smith 152.9 miles.
The club ride this Sunday will be another introductionary ride for new riders.
The pace will be steady on a circuitous route around Retford and it’s villages with a cafe stop at about half distance; riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Meet in Retford market square at 8am where you will receive a warm welcome.
