A trio of martial artists have been awarded prestigious black belts in a Korean combat sport.
Mature students Steven Sanderson and Tony Cockcroft, and Tony’s teenage son David, graduated to black belt at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy after progressing in the martial art.
All three of the students have been training for around three years, and earned their black belts from Master Andrew Blinston, president of the Retford academy.
The graduation event lasted from 12pm until 6pm, and included personal development training, a graduation display, speeches and a celebration.
Steve, Tony and Tuxford Academy student David all joined the martial arts school around the same time, wanting the same results – to be fitter, more flexible and to have more energy.
A spokesperson for Lynx Academy sang the trio’s praises.
“These dedicated students attend classes regularly, participate in Leadership training and additional seminars, they have demonstrated great commitment and passion towards their martial arts training, the fellow students of the academy and their Master Instructor.”
“ Having heavy schedules and family commitments, they have still managed to stay focused and loyal to their training.”
“Well done to you all, you were truly fantastic and your families are extremely proud of you.”
