SAM Walker has begun his European adventure.

The Worksop table tennis star moved to Frankfurt a fortnight ago, in a bid to up his game ahead of next year’s Olympic trials.

Proud dad Steve told the Guardian how the 16-year-old was settling into his German lifestyle.

“He’s got two to three sessions a day, training from 9am to 6.30pm,” he said.

“He’s living in an apartment with a couple of Serbians, but they all seem to speak English.”

The multiple-time national champion is going to night school to learn German, and Steve said the move to join TG Langsenbold has gone to plan so far.

“It seems to be a very good club, he’s training with the senior players, it’s a great opportunity for him.”

In the recent European Championships Walker got to the last 32 of the Under 18 singles tournament and picked up a bronze medal as part of Team GB.
