Retford win, Ordsall lose out

RETFORD were too much for Notts and Arnold Amateur on Saturday, winning by seven wickets thanks to an impressive performance from Darren Spooner.

He took five wickets for the loss of just 31 runs as the hosts were dismissed for 173.

With the bat, the Retford man notched 103 unbeaten runs, assisted by Pascal Broadley’s 47 to take Retford past the required total and clinch the full 20 points.

Elsewhere in the Bassetlaw Championship, Ordsall Bridon were skittled for 171 by Farnsfield, who reached 173 for the loss of five wickets.
