A Worksop based motorcycling team will be out in force at Norfolk circuit Snetterton on 11th and 12th October, for the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club’s prestigious ‘Race of the Year.’

Last weekend the Spencer Racing team were at Cadwell Park, where regular air-cooled 500 rider Jenny Westwood tried out one of the Spencer Yamaha 600s.

She rode in the Junior Production class with amazing results.

This was the first run out for Westwood in this class.

She started in both the Aircooled and Production classes alongside team mate and eight time championship winner Terry Brocklehurst of Whitwell.

Westwood’s performance on the 600 secured her a ride at Snetterton on a new FZ600 Yamaha, and Spencer Racing hope that she will ride in the Production class for next season.

One of Spencer Racing’s sponsors John ‘Foxy’ Fowler of Worksop was in attendance at Cadwell Park and was thrilled by Westwood’s performance.

Bikes being raced by the Spencer team at the upcoming Snetterton round include a new Nottingham rider on a Yamaha 600, Brocklehurst on a Yamaha 600 and Suzuki 325, Nottingham’s Steve Panter, Nottingham on a Yamaha 600, and Leighton Buzzard’s Jenny Westwood on a Yamaha 600 and Honda 400.

The new rider from Nottingham will have a trial run for the team at Snetterton, with a view to signing for next season when the team will be able to reveal his identity.
