New coach Craig West is hoping to turn his Dinnington side into a challenger at the top end of the Yorkshire One table.
The Lodge Lane outfit have called on the experienced Simon Bunting, Greg Hayer and Mick Beckett, along with a number of former Dinnington players who have featured at a higher level elsewhere.
An exchange programme will also hopefully see the arrival of two South African players before the end of September.
Dinnington’s pre-season got off to a losing start with defeat against Scunthorpe on Saturday.
But although they lost 22-21, Dinnington played well and actually came back from 22-7 down to almost snatch a victory.
On Saturday they host Mansfield at 3pm, before a visit to Old Brodleians on 7th September in the Yorkshire One opener.
When the league season begins, they’ll be facing newboys Keighley, who were relegated into Yorkshire One, and Selby and Doncaster Phoenix who both won promotion from Yorkshire Two.
To make up the numbers in the division, Acklam have been moved over from the Durham and Northumberland League.
Dinnington have played Acklam and Doncaster Phoenix previously in Yorkshire Shield games but this season will see the first meetings in the league.
