A 22-year-old from Worksop is set for her first triathlon.
Mathy Selvakumaran is taking part in the ‘Tri Together’ short distance triathlon in Lancaster in July.
The swimming enthusiast, who has congenital myopathy that affects the muscles in her arms and legs, is competing on behalf of Leonard Cheshire Disability.
She said: “Watching the Paralympics really inspired me to get into sport. I had been thinking about taking part in a local triathlon for a while.”
“As soon as I saw that Tri Together is open to able-bodied and disabled people I had to sign up,” she added.
