The last couple of weeks have seen some huge Trout hauled from the Toft Newton waters by local anglers.

Pictured with this week’s Guardian angling column is Jim Sperry, proudly showing off one of the biggest, a 12lb Rainbow.

Brownies over the 6lb mark have also been caught in recent weeks.

With the re-stocking programme now well underway, catch averages are on the rise at the fishery.

There’s never been a better time to give fly fishing a go.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a complete novice, all are welcome at Toft Newton.
