Thurcroft snooker ace Ashley Carty has been called up to the England Under 19 squad.
Carty will take on the best young players from around the UK in the Home International series in August.
This week the North Notts Arena Snooker Academy product has been in Gloucester for the Pink Ribbon pro-am tournament.
The event, which raises money for breast cancer charities, is held at the Capital Venue, where Carty won his first match 4-3 against Ricky Norris.
In his opening first round proper match he beat Brandon Sargeant 4-2, and was due to face Kobi Mates as the Guardian went to print.
Closer to home, Carty was rewarded for a fine season in the Worksop Snooker League with the Scratch Champion trophy at the league’s annual prize night.
