Sheffield Steelers have completed their 2014/15 Elite Ice Hockey League squad, with the capture of defenceman Cullen Eddy.

The 25-year-old has signed a two year contract with the South Yorkshire club, after leaving Adirondack Phantoms – an affiliate of the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers.

His arrival completes the roster for coach Gerad Adams who was delighted with his final signing who has four years of experience in the AHL.

He said: “Cullen is the perfect fit for the final slot on our team.”

“I think he has an offensive upside that we haven’t seen yet, this being due to his role in the AHL.”

“He will look after his own end of the ice and he plays with an edge.”

Adams believes that the new look squad has the right blend to challenge for honours this season.

“I think our D core has good balance, does a bit of everything.

“Up front again I think we have the balance right.”

“This is our team, I’m happy with it, really happy.”
