Five riders from the Retford and District Wheelers completed a 120-mile ride to the Humber Bridge last Sunday.
Other riders who set out with the group shortened their distance according to ability and went on to Messingham Sands.
The mid-week TLI road race league has now moved to the Stainton circuit, near Maltby.
Paul Austin and Alan Hazard were the Retford and District Wheelers only representatives, both riding well within their respective races. Austin clinched eighth place in the sprint finish of the ‘A’ event and Hazard finished within the bunch in the ‘C’ event.
The club will be holding it’s monthly meeting at the Rum Runner pub next Tuesday at 7.30pm - an ideal opportunity for interested potential new members to meet some of the club riders.
This Sunday’s club run will be to Bilsthorpe, a distance of about 50 miles. Meet in Retford market square at the usual time of 9am.
