A team of youngsters from Scotter impressed with their silky skills, at Scunthorpe United’s ground last weekend.
The Scotter Saints Under 7s were invited to play a mini match in the half-time break of The Iron’s clash with Torquay.
They took on Messingham Juniors, and ran out 4-0 winners.
Goals came thanks to a Josh Thompson hat-trick, and one from Kian Gallen.
The boys were also introduced to ‘Scunny Bunny’ the mascot, and had their picture taken, as shown above.
Team manager Lee Thompson said: “The boys really enjoyed their experience of playing in front of 3,500 people, and never showed any nerves.”
“They playedd their normal passing game, and Josh and Kian took their goals really well.”
“Myself and Ady Bembridge were delighted for them.”
The Iron, whose chairman Peter Swann was previously in charge at Gainsborough Trinity, won the main event 3-1.
