Schools football: Misson on track for a league and cup double


Misson, Bassetlaw’s furthest outpost, became the first school to reach the Knockout Cup final and became firm favourites for the Division Six title, thanks to wins over Sturton-le-Steeple.

James Blackburn and Finlay Watt scored in the 2-0 cup victory while Eddie O’Brien, Sam Pinder and Joseph Bond were on target in the league.

Leverton reached the Middle Divisions Cup final when Adam Capsticks, Ryan Boddy, Rudy Campbell and Thomas Jee all scored in a 5-2 defeat of Tuxford.

Worksop Priory’s Division Four title bid continued, beating Misterton and Clarborough when Nathan Calvert, Callum Wright, Leighton Wilson and Joel Ward played a big part.

A revival in Gamston’s form saw them defeat Ranby and share the points with Haggonfields whose goal in a 1-1 draw came fom Oliver Elgy.

Norbridge Girls moved to the top of their division when a 5-0 success against Carr Hill Girls was followed by a single goal win in the return fixture.

Emily Myatt hit four goals while Olivia Hare claimed two in the away win.
