Carr Hill and Norbridge added their names to the ever increasing list of Division winners and qualifiers for the ‘Champion of Champions’ Tournaments.
Carr Hill retained their Divison One title with a 5-2 victory over Ordsall, their goals coming from Liam Bennett, Jay Smith, Kai Howard, Ashwell and Callum Amendola.
Norbridge put themselves in an unassailable position in Division Three when Cole Marsden (2), Luke Smith, Codey Blackham and Lewis Scattergood were all on target in a 5-0 defeat of Kingston Park.
In the other boys’ divisions Gateford Park beat Prospect Hill by the odd goal in a nine goal thriller to claim runners-up spot but too late to challenge Redlands for the title.
In Division Three Jordan Garfitt, Sebastian Menzhausen, Thomas Bell and Bradley Thorlby-Coy were the goalscorers in St Anne’s 4-0 victory over Carlton Ramsden but once again runners-up spot is the best they can reach.
Misterton are in pole position to take the Division Four title while Tuxford’s 3-2 success against Thrumpton still leaves them a long way off the top spot.
The ‘B’ teams finally got underway when Jason Thackery, Ewan Whiston, Thomas Bradford and Ben Williams shared the honours in St John’s 7-3 defeat of St Augustine’s B.
With just a week to go for Champions Cup qualification Ranby and Beckingham could both claim the Division Seven title after Ranby reversed an early season defeat when two goals each for Dominic Greaves and Jake Willis overcame a brace by Beckingham’s Matthew Overton.
Perennial challengers Haggonfields will have to settle for second place this year after dropping two points against East Markham in spite of a goal from Andrew Connor.
Gringley finished bottom of Division Eight but are to be complemented on the sporting way they have finished their fixtures.
In their final game of the season a Jordan Turner goal earned them a point against Harworth’s St Patrick’s.
North Leverton should win Division Nine if they can get their fixtures played but have last year’s champions North Wheatley waiting to take advantage of any slip-up.
