I am writing regarding the proposed development of 160 new dwellings to be built on the land of Birks Farm, Hodthorpe, near Worksop.
I am at a loss as to why, back in 2006 and 2011, a request to build smaller developments on the very same site were refused by Bolsover District Council. The reasons for refusal were that the development would lead to a reduction in the rural character of the countryside and have a significant effect on the listed farm complex.
Views to and from the farm would be severely affected by the proposal.
It was also mentioned that the road through the village would not be able to cope with the additional traffic and that in 2011 a similar development was considered too large for the village to absorb.
The village remains the sameas it did back in 2006/2011 and therefore the new development surely should be refused for the same reasons?
