My wife and I went to the cinema in Worksop on 12th March. The cinema car park was full, so we went across the road from Chiltern Mills and parked there.
The ticket machine clearly says ‘Cinema car park, take the refund voucher to the cinema and get your £1.50 off the cinema ticket.’
The council however, had put the wrong tickets in the machine with no refund voucher on them, which you don’t know until you have put your money in. Anyway, the cinema wouldn’t refund my money, so I went to reception at the town hall and explained what had happened. The receptionist gave me a card with customer services on and the name J. Bowler, if I’ve read her writing correctly. She says he will ring me and sort it out, but he doesn’t ring, so I put it in writing and tell him I want my money back as it’s a clear agreement with the council and the cinema, but he has ignored my letter.
So readers beware, the council doesn’t want to honour their cinema agreement. The cinema is the best thing to have been built in Worksop, but clearly in the wrong place. How on earth could the car park shared with the health centre, shoppers and cinema-goers ever be big enough!
