READER LETTER: Pesticides are killing our bees

editorial image

Environment Secretary Liz Truss is in the process of thinking of lifting the ban on neonicotinoid pesticides. This would have a detrimental effect on our bees.

We as gardeners have managed to grow our vegetables without the use of these pesticides, so why go back to using them now?

Bees are very important to farmers and gardeners to pollinate our crops.

Please would you draw the attention of your readers to these facts. Lifting the ban on bee-killing pesticides would be dangerous for bees and people’s livelihoods.

The more people who contact their MP to stand against lifting this ban the better chance we have of saving a very important little insect.
