The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for Worksop and Notts as the remains of Hurricane Gonzalo sweeps through the UK on Monday.
On Monday night, extremely heavy rain and strong winds are likely to hit the area.
The public should be prepared for the chance of significant disruption to travel and difficult driving conditions on Tuesday.
The yellow warning, which means be aware, has been issued
A warning for the East Midlands issued by the Met Office said: “A period of very strong winds is expected on Tuesday as a low pressure system tracks across northern UK from the west.”
“Whilst strong winds and heavy rain are likely on Monday night the strongest winds are expected as the rain clears eastwards and winds veer through to Tuesday morning.”
Whilst the storm will no longer be of hurricane strength, the remains of Hurricane Gonzalo is currently moving into the Atlantic, and very strong rain and wind are expected over Monday night and Tuesday.
