A Worksop man has been released on bail after being accused of assaulting a man Whitwell in July.

Joshua Blount, 28, of Lea Court, denied assaulting Karl Pendleton when he appeared at North Derbyshire and Dales Magistrates’ Court in Chesterfield on Wednesday.

Mr Pendleton died shortly after the incident but the court heard a post-mortem revealled he died of natural causes and which were not related to the alleged assault.

Mr Blount also denied charges of failing to stop for police when indicated and driving without due care and attention.

The case will now go to trial, again at Chesterfield, on 12th November.
