On Friday 26th April the play, by award-winning Liverpudlian playwright Willy Russell comes to The Acorn Theatre.
And we have A PAIR OF TICKETS to give away.
Educating Rita is a comedy about a woman called Susan, who initially calls herself Rita.
Dissatisfied with the routine of her work and social life, Rita (Rachael Hewer) seeks inner growth by signing up for an Open University course in English Literature.
Rita’s tutor, Frank (Jonathan Rigby), is a middle aged alcoholic academic who has taken on the tutorship to pay for his drink habit.
The two have an immediate and profound effect on one another. The play tells the story of Rita’s development and growth as she is ‘educated’ and the effect the process has on Frank and his attitude to education and his own life.
Educating Rita is presented by Hambledon Productions and directed by Daniel Slater, with original music by Mark-Anthony Turnage. To find out more visit www.hambledonproductions.com
