Local artisans are doing their bit to prevent a national baking crisis.
Graduates from The School of Artisan Food in Welbeck are helping stop a shortage of artisan bakers in the UK.
The school runs a 10-month Advanced Diploma in Baking, and every one of its most recent graduates is employed or setting up their own business.
Joe Piliero, Director at the School said: “There are artisan bakeries across the country who just can’t find qualified bakers so it’s great that our students are being recognised and offered full time positions.”
“There has been an increase in young people interested in pursuing baking, and it would be great to see this continue.”
“We’re currently filling our places for next year and demand has been exceptionally high.”
