Woman fights for life after North Anston crash


AN ELDERLY woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after a road crash near North Anston.

Her passenger also sustained injuries, but is said to be in a stable condition.

The crash took place at 2.23pm on Monday 7th November when a white Toyota Hylux 4 x 4, driven by a 44-year-old man from the Worksop area, was travelling along the Todwick Road towards Dinnington when it collided with a blue Mazda 3 at the crossroads with Common Road.

The 86-year-old female Mazda-driver from Anston, suffered a fractured pelvis, internal injuries and serious head trauma, and is said to be in a life-threatening condition at Rotherham District General Hospital.

Her front-seat passenger, a 77-year-old woman from Woodsetts , is at the same hospital after sustaining a serious eye injury.
