Retford man badly injured in A1M crash

A RETFORD man suffered serious injuries in a crash on the A1M this morning (Monday).

The collision happened just before 12.10am between junctions 35 and 36.

A white Mercedes LGV was travelling southbound in lane one when it was in a collision with a blue Honda CRV was travelling in the same direction in lane two. A red Seat Leon was then in collision with the Honda, which was stationary in lane two.

A 56-year-old Retford man, the driver of the Honda, sustained serious chest and head injuries. He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the Seat, a 30-year-old man from Great Ayton, Middlesborough, sustained minor back injuries. He was also taken to DRI.

The 48-year-old driver of the LGV from Nuneaton was not hurt.
