Thursday’s Child follows the adventures of a group of children on a journey in search of a home and happiness through a war torn country.
Their journey leads them to encounter situations which illustrate the worst aspects of life for a child in a vibrant, dramatic, and sometimes humorous way before the final climatic courtroom denouement leads to a happy ending for their quest.
The musical drama was commissioned by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in 1999 and has been widely performed throughout the world.
Thursday’s Child is a musical theatre production for performance by young people based on the contents of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The idea behind it is to get people, especially young people, thinking and talking about vital children’s issues and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, by watching, and participating in, performances of the musical.
Thursday’s Child is being performed at the Trinity Arts Centre in Gainsborough on Saturday 20th July at 6pm and Sunday 21st July at 3pm.
All tickets are priced at £6.50 and are available from the arts centre Box Office on 01427
There will be a collection for UNICEF-UK at the end of each performance.
