Wind speeds have started to pick up across the Bassetlaw area as a monster storm bears down on the UK.

The storm -dubbed St Jude - is set to wreak havoc across the country overnight on Sunday and during the Monday morning rush hour.

This afternoon (Sunday) gales were starting to blow across Bassetlaw making driving conditions hazardous.

Heavy rain is expected to add to the problems with flooding possible and surface water making the roads treacherous.

Already a number of services on the East Coast Mainline between Retford and London have been cancelled for Monday, with speed restrictions also being enforced along this stretch of line.
