Double the number of visitors came to Sherwood Forest for the Robin Hood Festival 2013, compared to last year.
Around 50,000 people attended the annual event, including Robin Hood fans Debbie and Joe Tencza from the New York Renaissance Faire who renewed their wedding vows.
They made the 3,400 mile trip from their home in New Jersey USA after Debbie’s recent successful battle against cancer.
Thousands of people were treated to a packed week of activities, including jousting and falconry and entertainers who appeared as medieval characters.
There were also the daily antics from the Robin Hood legends cast. Steve Warrington who plays Robin Hood said: “The weather was great for the majority of the week and the crowds were fantastic. We were delighted with the interest and it has been a fantastic year.”
