A RUNAWAY project worker for Safe@Last has attended a prestigious summit in America.

Joe Clay, who is originally from Dinnington where the charity is based, was invited to attend the One Young World Summit.

The summit was set up by a London-based charity and sees young people, aged 18 to 26, from around the world come together to debate and find solutions to global solutions.

Joe’s participation at the summit was funded with the support of Safe@Last’s funders, the Railway Children and Aviva.

Before he left for the summit, Joe said: “I am delighted to be attending the One Young World Summit representing Safe@Last.”

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with like minded people from across the world to share our experiences as young professionals.”

“Safe@Last works with young runaways across South Yorkshire and I’m keen to bring the issues they face to the global table, to share our experiences and to encourage other participants to consider how this issue is addressed in their own country.”
