Return of D word

I’Ve held out as long as I can, about three weeks, but I can’t resist any longer.

I’ve just got to mention it. Downton Abbey.

Just as the nights started drawing in and the weather turned colder, it returned to our screens like a faithful friend turning up with goodies to share.

Even writing about it has brought on that lovely curled-up-on-the-sofa-with-a-mug-of-cocoa feeling.

And of course we’ve now got the wonderful Shirley Maclaine playing the liberal American grandmother, a perfect foil to Maggie Smith’s stuffy dowager countess.

Forget the Emmys, it should have it’s own personal awards ceremony.
