Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were seriously assaulted in Worksop town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning (15 October 2016).
Officers were called at around 3.45am near to the canal on Watson Road.
A 29-year old man remains in a serious but stable condition in Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for serious head injuries after being knocked unconscious during the assault.
A 30-year old man also suffered facial injuries during the incident.
Detective Sergeant Rick Ellis from Nottinghamshire Police said: “This is a serious assault that took place in the early hours of the morning following a busy Friday night in Worksop town centre. We’re convinced a good number of people will have been in the Watson Road area of the town at the time of the incident and we would encourage anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward. We are hoping to speak to a man aged in his late twenties or early thirties in connection with this incident, as well as a young woman who was seen with that man and who we believe may have vital information that could help us to understand how these man sustained their injuries.”
The man detectives are looking to trace is described as white, around 6ft tall and is believed to be between 25- and 35-years of age. He is also described as being of stocky build and has short dark hair.
The woman he was seen with at the time of the incident is described as white, aged between 25- and 35-years of age, is of slim build and has long dark hair.
