FORMER pupils of Lorne House School are being given the chance to meet up and reminisce about the best days of their lives.
The reunion at Clumber Park Hotel’s Normanton Suite on Sunday 20th May is open to anyone who went to the Retford school in the 1940s, 50s or 60s.
“The reunion in 2004 was a big success, we had over 100 people there,” said Jill Fish, former pupil and member of the organising committee.
“We’ve been in touch with everyone who came before and looked all over the place for others.
“It’s mainly been word of mouth but we have phoned people and sent countless emails.
“Tracking down women has been the hardest thing as many of them have got married and changed their names.”
The meeting will be an informal chance to mingle and catch up.
A paying bar has been arranged and afternoon tea will be available at the venue.
The event, running from 2pm until 5pm, is free but the organisers say that it would be appreciated if people buy raffle tickets as the proceeds would help offset costs. Raffle prizes would also be appreciated.
Any school memorabilia such as uniforms, reports or photographs would be welcomed by the organisers.
Clumber Park Hotel is on the A614, not in the park itself.
