Notts County Council has appointed a Colin Pettigrew as its new Corporate Director for Children, Families and Cultural Services.
Mr Pettigrew, currently director of children’s services for Sefton Council in Merseyside, will join the authority in the autumn.
As a qualified and registered social worker, Mr Pettigrew is working and has worked in children’s services for a number of local authorities and charities over the last 30 years.
He also spent nearly two years working for the Department for Children, Schools and Families, leading on improvements under the Every Child Matters agenda and new policies on child poverty and children with disabilities
“I am delighted that Colin Pettigrew is joining the council,” said Anthony May, Notts County Council chief executive.
“Colin brings a wealth of experience gained over many years working in children’s of services in a variety of senior roles and will be a welcome addition to our senior management team.
“He will be supported by an excellent team of employees, managers and elected members totally committed to the on-going, continual improvement of services to children and young people in Notts.”
