Avid visitors to National Trust places across Notts may already be aware of the National Trust’s list of ‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’.
It’s crammed full of outdoor activities to encourage children to get mucky, discover their wild side and get closer to nature.
This year’s ‘50 things’ activities gramme is now underway, so there’s no better time to start the ‘50 things’ challenge.
When the National Trust questioned 1,700 children and their parents about their enjoyment of outdoor activities, the top three outdoor activities chosen were tree climbing, den building and bike riding.
These and many of other outdoor pursuits are included on the ‘50 things’ list.
Harry Bowell of the National Trust said “‘50 things’ is a great way for kids to enjoy being outdoors.”
Children in Bassetlaw can enjoy climbing a tree or creating a den from a pile of fallen branches, twigs and leaves at Clumber Park.
If they have a passion for wildlife, they can hunt for bugs or go birdwatching in the gardens at Mr Straw’s House.
Begin an exciting outdoor adventure and sign up for the ‘50 things’ challenge.
