Nominate your GP for the award you think they deserve

Do you think your GP deserves an award?

Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee Ltd (LMC), the professional body representing NHS GPs, is looking for people to nominate their GP for a top award.

The LMC’s General Practice Awards 2011 will include a special Patients’ Champion Award which will be given to the NHS GP.

The award will be given to the GP judged through his or her selflessness and dedication to patients to best represent the values of personal care and professionalism traditionally associated with the family doctor.

Organisers want to hear from people who think their GP deserves recognition for the services they have given them or their family.

Anyone can send a letter or email to the LMC telling us why they think their GP deserves the award.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 11th March.

The LMC can’t accept anonymous nominations so people need to put their own name and address on the letter or email. However, they will not tell their doctor who nominated them, unless they want them to.

It will acknowledge receipt of any letters or emails received and tell people if their GP is one of the four who will be short listed and invited to the awards ceremony in July.

Email nominations to or write to: The Chief Executive, Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee, Duncan Macmillan House, Porchester Road, Mapperley, Nottingham, NG3 6AA.
