A 33-year-old man received substantial head and facial injuries after a robbery in Retford.

The man was discovered shoeless and disorientated by a member of the public in Albert Road at 3.15am on Saturday 27th August.

As well as his shoes, the man’s keys, wallet and mobile phone were missing.

The robbery is believed to have taken place between 2am and 3.15am after the victim left the Litten Tree pub.

His phone was later recovered from the Wharf Road area, where police believe the attack took place.

The man was taken to Bassetlaw Hospital where he has since been transferred to Rotherham Hospital for surgery to a fractured jaw.

Police, who are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting enquiries in the area, are now appealing for witnesses to the robbery.
