Roche Abbey is this weekend hosting the Diocese of Sheffield at it continues to celebrate its centenary year.
The event marks the fifth stage of the official 2014 centenary tour around the region and takes place on Sunday (5th September) from 2-5pm.
Visitors will have the chance to explore the ruins and take in stunning views of the countryside.
There will also be a circus skills workshop, face painting and performances from Micah’s Gang puppet theatre and a 17th Century-style dance group.
In addition, there will be teaching from the Bishop of Sheffield and worship with the Centenary Singers
There will also be the chance to meet the centenary artist in residence.
He has been attending each event where he asks visitors to help create a large painting for the day.
When the tour has completed, these painting will be joined together to make a large piece of artwork that will be displayed in key locations throughout the diocese.
