World Cup fever might be sweeping the nation but budding young footballers in Langold are gearing up for their own tournament.

Langold Juniors Football Club will play from 10am - 4pm on Sunday 6th July to raise money for charity.

The whole community is invited to get involved and support the event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Several teams are lined up to play on the football fields on Harrison Drive, from the nursery team right through to the under-16s.

The day has been organised by Langold man and club manager and vice chairman Shaun Charnock.

Shaun is appealing for local businesses to pledge their support by donating raffle prizes on the day.

He would also like to hear from anyone willing to offer a bouncy castle, rides or games to build the event into a fun day for all the family.

Anyone who wants more information or who can offer to help can call Shaun on 07514 800067.
