Incidents around Nottinghamshire have caused traffic mayhem this morning (January 7) leaving people fighting to make it into the office.
Motorway problems, accidents, bad weather, and roadworks have contributed to the heavy congestion on main roads across the county.
A fire on the M1 near Nottinghamshire caused two lanes to be closed off during rush hour - which had a knock-on effect on main roads leading up to the motorway, including the A38.
This was due to a crane which caught alight in the roadworks area going southbound between Tibshelf Services and J28 for Alfreton.
A car crash in Papplewick also caused a back-up of traffic in the area.
A VW and Vauxhall collided on Linby Lane at around 7.40am, causing the road to be blocked off in both directions.
The A616 Wellow Road in Ollerton was also congested due to roadworks and temporary traffic lights at the Newark Road junction - which are expected to remain for a number of weeks.
The traffic chaos has been made worse after heavy rain hit parts of the region, making roads slippery and flooding in some places.
But with more heavy rain expected for most of the day in Nottinghamshire, people should expect further delays.
