Clowne Golf Society and the family of Ady Presswood raised more than £4,000 at a charity event for Neurocare at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The event was a four-ball competition at Bondhay Golf Club where secretary Alan Hardisty also gave the players use of the par three academy course free of charge, and use of the main dining area
Barry Salt, one of the organisers, said: “We receive lots of entries from local golf clubs and even one from Gleneagles (the Scottish club that staged the 2014 Ryder Cup).
“A big thank you for all the gifts from the firms and local shops, we had so many, there are too many to name.
“As well as the golf, we had a quiz and an auction and collected £4,109.02.”
The cheque was handed over at Bondhay Golf Club to the Neurocare representative by Karen Presswood, the widow of Ady.
