Nottinghamshire firefighters will be picking up their sponges tomorrow and washing as many cars as possible.
The washes – which will take place at Mansfield, Edwinstowe, Retford, Collingham, Bingham, Hucknall, Carlton and Highfields stations – will raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
The charity provides vital rehabilitation and support to firefighters, fire service staff and their families to help them recover from illness and injury.
Firefighter Arron Enever, the charity’s Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service co-ordinator,
“We all know that washing your car at the weekend can feel like a bit of a chore, so why not save the bother and drive down to your local station where we will do the hard work for you.
“All donations will go towards helping thousands of fire service staff – who work tirelessly all year round to create safer communities in Nottinghamshire – in their time of need.”
