North Anston’s Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is welcoming fright fans to a day of ghoulish good fun this weekend.
Thornberry’s Hallowe’en ‘Spooktacular’ is on SAturday, October 29 from 11am to 5pm and will be the perfect event to get little ghosts and goblins in the mood for a night of trick-or- treating whilst raising much-needed funds for the sanctuary.
Fun, frights, stalls, traditional games, raffles, cakes and hot food will be on offer during the day.
There will also be special one-day- only ‘haunted Thornberry tours’ where the mischievous Dr Thorn will take guests around the sanctuary for light-hearted scares.
David Barker (who may, or may not be dressing up as Dr Thorn for the day) said: “We’ve got a ‘Howl’ween’ event to remember at Thornberry this year.
“Sainsbury’s in Worksop has very kindly made the site look ghoulishly good with Hallowe’en decorations, and prizes have also been donated by Pets at Home in Worksop.
“There will be competitions for the best dressed human and dog, as well as pumpkin carving competition, so come dressed up and bring your smashing pumpkins to win some ghoulishly good prizes.”
