Melanie Thompson, manager, said: “The coffee shop business has steadily grown over the last couple of years. We’ve got regular customers who come every day for a drink and a chat, and others who just pop in whenever they visit the nursery.
“It’s a lovely setting and we always try to create a nice, laid-back atmosphere where people can have a quiet read of a magazine. or catch up with friends for a good chat.”
The menu at Darfoulds Coffee Shop is cooked by a chef who prepares everything from Sunday lunches, omelettes and paninis to cakes, scones and daily specials like sea bass and homemade burgers.
Melanie said: “We serve food throughout the day from 9am to 5pm, and children are welcome – we can rustle up child-friendly meals or snacks and there are toys and play equipment to keep them happy.”
And the friendly customer service people have come to expect after more than 20 years as a family-run nursery, is extended into the café.
