Rotherham Council has started its consultation on whether to introduce a Selective Licensing scheme for private rented housing in Dinnington and parts of Maltby.

The proposals are to introduce a scheme whereby landlords who rent out houses have to get a licence for each house and meet by additional conditions in a bid to increase demand for housing.

Residents and other interested members of the public can find out more at local drop- in sessions in the proposed areas. Consultation events take place at Dinnington Rescource Centre and at Maltby Joint Service Centre on Friday 7th February, from 2-7pm.

Under the proposals each house would need a licence which would cost no more than £687 for a five year licence.
