The parents of tragic Amber Peat have paid tribute to her this afternoon after it was confirmed that the body found in a residential area last night was her.
The 13-year-old, who had been missing from her Bosworth home for more than three days was found by two police officers in a small wooded areas between Westfield Lane and Parliament Street.
It was confirmed hat the cause of death was hanging, and police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
In a statement read out by Supt Matt McFarlane, he said: “Amber’s mum and stepdad, Kelly and Danny, would like to say that they were particularly touched by the amazing support they received from the community.”
They paid tribute to their daughter, saying: “We will always remember Amber for her love of singing and dancing.
“She was never happier than when reading to her younger sisters and being surrounded by her family.
“We will always be grateful for our last family holiday with our beautiful daughter. We will always miss her.”
