Langold: Pensioner fights off knife wielding robber with walking stick

A man has attempted to rob an elderly couple waiting for a bus in Langold.

The couple were standing at a bus stop in Doncaster Road, near to the Hilltop Club, around 10.20pm on Sunday 22nd December.

Police said the suspect approached them, produced a knife, and demanded they hand over a coat.

One of the victims used his walking stick to defend himself, and the offender made off empty-handed.

The couple, who are in their 80s, were not injured but were left shaken by what happened.
